Find, translate and recover past dictations in History.

Use History to revisit a transcript, create another translation or recover text that did not reach your writing app.

1. Find the voice record

Open History in the sidebar and search for the passage or look through the dates. Records are stored on this computer and may be removed according to your Keep records setting.

2. View the original and copy the result

Open More actions on the record and choose View original to show its saved recognition transcript. Use Copy text to copy the displayed result, then paste it into your intended document or text field.

3. Translate the saved transcript

Choose Translate or Translate again in More actions. Select Direct translation or Polished translation, choose a target language and confirm. Translation uses the saved original transcript; the language choice here applies to this operation.

A completed translation adds a result version and keeps earlier versions. Translation requires an internet connection; Free requests also need remaining allowance. If it fails, the existing content is kept.

4. Choose a saved result version

When a record has more than one version, use the result version selector above its text. Select the version you want to read or copy. Switching an existing version does not request a new translation.

5. Recover what is still available

If text was not inserted, copy the available result and paste it into a focused, editable field. If the record has saved audio, use More actions to play the recording or transcribe it again. Transcription again and polishing again require cloud processing and use Free allowance; Pro usage is unlimited.

Translation is unavailable without the saved original transcript; playback and transcription again need saved audio. A deleted or unsaved recording cannot be recovered from History. Save important text in your own documents.

FAQ

Why is Translate unavailable?

The record needs a saved original transcript. If it was not saved, translation cannot use that record. If audio is available, you may transcribe again first; this uses Free allowance; Pro usage is unlimited.

Why do I not see the version selector?

It appears when a record has multiple saved result versions. A single existing result does not show the selector.

Will trying again overwrite the current result?

A completed history translation keeps earlier result versions. If translation does not complete, your existing content remains available.

Can I view this history after signing in on another computer?

No. It stays on the computer where it was saved. Signing in does not transfer local voice history.
