Dictate a Slack thread reply in the right place
Click into the reply box you want (thread or channel), then hold Right Alt and talk.
Pick @mentions with Slack's own picker. Everything else, just say.
Free every 7 days
Voice typing, auto cleanup, Dictionary, Snippets and translation are in the free plan, free every 7 days. Pro is unlimited for $8.25/month, billed yearly. No Slack add-on needed.
Start with the right conversation and reply box
Use it in Slack, Teams or Feishu, in the desktop app or the browser. If a box won't take the text, click Copy text and paste.
- Confirm the person, group or channel before placing the cursor.
- Use the voice shortcut shown in SayDart; Right Alt is the Windows default. On Mac it's Right Option; on Linux, Left Ctrl + Left Alt + Space.
- Say your reply and let go. The text is there in a moment.
Turn an update into a useful written reply
A compact reply can cover status, the missing detail and a next step. For example: “The revised proposal is ready. I still need the final delivery date before sending it to the client. Could you confirm that by this afternoon?”
After dictation, replace “this afternoon” with an exact time if colleagues work in different time zones. Add the document link or attachment using the chat app.
Choose text when the recipient needs to scan it
Nobody has to play a voice note. They just read your reply.
Review names, mentions and commitments
Add teammates' names to Dictionary so SayDart writes them your way.
- Verify the recipient, channel and thread again after inserting the draft.
- Check dates, amounts, task owners and whether a tentative idea became a firm promise.
- Add or verify mentions, links and attachments in the messaging app.
- Read the tone, then use the app’s normal send control yourself.
If the reply does not appear
If text doesn't show up, click Copy text on the result (it's also in History), then paste.
If the field is read-only or your account cannot post there, resolve that access issue in the chat app. If no result was generated, use the recording and processing troubleshooting guide.
