SayDart vs Windows voice typing

Win+H is fine for a quick sentence. SayDart works the same way (click, hold Right Alt, talk), but "um"s and restarts disappear, Dictionary keeps names right, and you can translate as you speak. Also on Mac and Linux.

Which one fits your work?

Use Win+H for the occasional sentence. Use SayDart if you write a lot by voice: auto cleanup, Dictionary, Snippets, History and an Assistant you open with Right Alt + Space.

This comparison focuses on Windows 11 voice typing. Windows Voice access is a separate accessibility feature, described below.

Windows can also clean up dictation

Windows includes options for cleaning up spoken text. Microsoft documents Fluid dictation for Copilot+ PCs in English locales, with grammar, punctuation and filler-word cleanup. Availability depends on the supported device and installed models. Ordinary Win+H voice typing also has an automatic punctuation setting.

SayDart cleans up every dictation automatically: fillers out, punctuation in. Add names to Dictionary once and they're in your dictionary on every computer you sign in to, so SayDart writes them your way. Want your exact words? Switch cleanup off in Style.

Work through a real writing task

For an email, put the cursor in the draft and describe the message. With SayDart, add recurring project names to the dictionary, dictate, then review the result before sending. If you need help deciding what to say, open the assistant as a separate conversation.

Try both on one real email and keep whichever you'd reach for next time.

Internet access and offline needs

Local history does not make SayDart an offline app. Its recognition and writing services need a connection. If offline control is the deciding requirement, look at Microsoft Voice access: it can control a PC and author text without internet after initial setup. Check its current language and device requirements separately from Win+H.

FAQ

Visit the help center
Does Windows voice typing support Chinese and English?

Yes. Microsoft lists Chinese and several English variants among its supported Windows 11 voice typing languages. Change the Windows input language to switch. Fluid dictation has its own narrower availability conditions.

Is SayDart the same as Win+H?

No. SayDart is a separate application with its own account, dictionary, history and assistant. Win+H opens the built-in Windows voice typing feature.

Can SayDart replace Windows Voice access?

No. SayDart is for writing. Voice access is for controlling your PC, and it works offline once it's set up. Setup itself needs an internet connection to download the speech files for your language.
